# Powering Core64 and 64c

## Stock Configurations

The Core64 kit accepts the 4x "AAA" battery pack in two places:

1\) On the top face of the Logic Board in the top half, which locates it under the LED Matrix, with the opening for the battery cells facing up. I recommend this location because the batteries are more likely to stay in place with gravity working on your side.

2\) On the bottom face of the LED Matrix, with the opening for the battery cells facing downward. The "downside" to this location is that some shorter cells might loosen more easily.

The Core64c kit accepts the 4x "AAA" battery pack in two places as well:

1\) On the bottom face of the Logic Board. I do not recommend this position.

2\) On the bottom face of the LED Matrix. I recommend this location.

## Alternative Options

OPTION 1: 

The 4x "AAA" battery pack may be replaced with a 3x "AA" battery pack. 

OPTION 2:

The 4x "AAA" battery pack may be removed and replaced with a 1s LiPo and a charger manager. Both of these are installed on the backside of the LED Matrix. I recommend these two parts:
